Ozil pays tribute to young supporter after making his dreams come true

Mesut Ozil has paid tribute to the young supporter who he sat next to ahead of Arsenal's win over Huddersfield on Saturday.

Ozil was not in the Arsenal team to face Huddersfield on Saturday, but that did not stop the Gunners man giving one young fan the perfect afternoon.

While some players may have stayed at home to watch the game while injured, Ozil instead opted to sit down with an adoring supporter to watch the match.

And on Tuesday, Ozil posted a photo with the young fan, Eren, and said: 'Proud to have such cool fans like Eren.

'Thanks for stopping by on Saturday.'

On Saturday, Ozil gave Eren the perfect surprise in a box at the Emirates Stadium. He tapped the boy on the shoulder before giving him a hug and sitting down next to him for a chat.

The youngster is clearly a huge fan of the midfielder given his 'OZIL' hat, and he appears starstruck by the presence of his hero sitting next to him just as the game kicks off.

Ozil's Arsenal career has stuttered in recent weeks, with the former Germany midfielder not having played for the first team in the last month.

He once again missed out on the squad at the weekend due to his ongoing back injury, and there is no word as to when he will return.

Alongside the injury, Ozil has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in January, most recently to Inter Milan.

Various reports state that his agent is ready to fly to the Italian capital for talks with the club ahead of a potential £25million move to the San Siro.

On the pitch, Arsenal are faring well without Ozil and have now gone 21 matches without a defeat in all competitions, a run stretching back to August 18.

A late goal from new star midfielder Lucas Torreira ensured victory over the Terriers at the weekend, and Unai Emery's side are now up to fifth in the table.
