Mesut Ozil has confessed the reason behind his new look as the German paid the price for losing a crossbar challenge.
Arsenal quartet Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette went head-to-head with the winner escaping the punishment of changing their hair colour.
Lacazette held his nerve, came out on top and Ozil was one of the losing trio who mixed up his look, catching the eye with a bright blond look.
'It was a bet between me Lacazette, Shkodran (Mustafi) and Sead Kolasinac it was crossbar challenging so Lacazette was the winner,' the German said.
'We were the losers, me Sead and Mustafi and the bet was to change the hair a different colour so what I did was blonde, Sead green and Mustafi tried something different.
'But in the end of dying he was unhappy and changed the colour of his hair back so that is what happened, that's it.'
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was quick to liken Ozil's new look to USA star Megan Rapinoe.
And the German admits he is still finding it difficult to accept the new design, suggesting he could go revert back to his darker look before the season begins.
'[Team-mates] really like it but for me if I am waking up in the morning, it looks different because I had always dark hair,' he added.
'But now I really like it so I don't know if I will keep this hair in London, I don't know but right now I am OK with that.'
