Liverpool moved to within one point of Manchester City in the Premier League title race with a 2-0 win over Everton.
Andrew Robertson and Divock Origi both got on the scoresheet as the Reds put the pressure back on City while the Toffees slipped into the relegation zone.
Sportsmail's DOMINIC KING rated the players.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3)
Alisson Becker – One miscued punch apart, dealt with whatever came his way with the minimum of fuss – 7
Trent Alexander-Arnold – Unusually out of sorts and booked for a wild challenge on Gordon in the second half – 6
Joel Matip – Can consider himself fortunate that VAR did not get involved when he pushed Gordon in the back, otherwise accomplished – 7
Virgil van Dijk – Didn’t have much to do as Everton’s threat through the middle was minimal; a nuisance at set plays – 7
Andrew Robertson – The embodiment of industry, he won’t forget his first goal in front of The Kop in a hurry – 8.5
Naby Keita – One of those frustrating afternoons when he flittered around the periphery and was eventually withdrawn – 6
Fabinho – Like most of his team-mates, out of sorts in the first half but cooled down after the break when it mattered – 7
Thiago Alcantara – Was on the ball an awful lot; effective but didn’t have the same impact as he had done against Manchester United – 7
Mohamed Salah – Grew into the game and his second half performance was outstanding, not least his assist for Robertson – 8
Diogo Jota – Involved in a running battle with Seamus Coleman at times, did well to hear Robertson’s shout for the opening goal – 6.5
Sadio Mane – Booked for jabbing a finger at Mason Holgate, substituted after tiring in the second half – 6
Subs: Origi (for Mane 60mins, 8), Diaz (for Keita 60mins, 7.5), Henderson (for Jota 81mins)
Unused subs: Kelleher (GK), Konate, Milner, Gomez, Jones, Tsimikas
MANAGER:
Jurgen Klopp – Changed the course of the game – and, potentially, the course of the season – with his substitutions – 8
EVERTON (4-5-1)
Jordan Pickford – Did all that he could to keep his team in the game, distribution excellent and some smart stops – 7
Seamus Coleman – Belligerent and enjoyed his skirmish with Jota but was presented with a different test altogether by Diaz – 6.5
Mason Holgate – Part of a determined rearguard action and put himself in the thick of things, primarily when squabbling with Keita – 6
Michael Keane – Rushed into the back four after Ben Godfrey was injured in the warm-up; switched off for Origi’s header – 6
Vitalii Mykolenko – Contender to be seen as his team’s best player, no easy task up against Salah but never shirked the issue – 7
Allan – A performance full of emotion; won a lot of tackles and played with fire but eventually booked and replaced – 6
Abdoulaye Doucoure – One surge away saw him have Everton’s only first half shot, booked for chopping down Fabinho – 6
Alex Iwobi – Cursed himself for not connecting with a second half header, constantly kept running but no reward for it – 7
Anthony Gordon – When the rough edges are polished, he will be a fine player. Should have had a penalty, booked for diving in first half – 7.5
Demarai Gray – A couple of powerful strikes from distance but couldn’t find a way past Van Dijk and was substituted late on – 6.5
Richarlison – One of those days when he spent too much time rolling around on the floor; could have been sent-off for kicking out at Henderson – 5.5
Subs: Rondon (Gray 77mins 5), Alli (Allan 73mins 5)
Unused subs: Begovic (GK), Kenny, Delph, Branthwaite, El Ghazi, Price
MANAGER
Frank Lampard – Couldn’t be faulted in terms of how he set his team and the message he got across; ultimately outdone by Liverpool’s substitutions – 6.5
REFEREE:
Stuart Attwell – The occasion looked too big for him at times and some of his decisions made no sense whatsoever, not least the push from Matip on Gordon – 5
