PLAYER RATINGS: Phil Foden was dangerous every time the ball landed at his feet for Manchester City

Manchester City stormed into the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park to book a spot at Wembley - keeping their hopes of a quadruple very much alive.

Ilkay Gundogan broke the deadlock late in the second half, nodding home with a diving header after City had hit the crossbar, with midfield dynamo Kevin de Bruyne netting a second to wrap up a confident victory over the Toffees.

It was a strong display from Pep Guardiola's table toppers as they target their most successful season in their history with another piece of silverware to add to their manager's vast collection.

Sportsmail's Dominic King watched over the action on Saturday evening and provided player ratings for the players and managers.

EVERTON (5-3-2)

Joao Virginia - 7

Nervous early on with his distribution but one made superb save from Sterling.

Seamus Coleman – 6

Had more on his plate defending than attacking during a challenging night.

Mason Holgate – 5.5

Taken off late on as Everton chased an equaliser; his main role was launching throw-ins.

Clumsy on occasions but would have been a different night if his header went in.

Ben Godfrey – 7

Impresses every time you see him, he’ll be playing for England in the near future

Lucas Digne – 6

Given a difficult time by Foden but did his best to stick to his guns.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 5

Everton’s most creative player but never any opportunity cause damage.

Allan – 5

Made a couple of early challenges but most of his night was spent chasing shadows.

Rasping drive fizzed wide in the second half but too often on the periphery.

No meaningful sight of goal and comfortably handled by Dias.

One shot in the second half but otherwise no meaningful contribution.

Comfortable evening when his main focus was trying to support City’s attacks.

Never really out of his comfort zone, one great tackle halted Calvert-Lewin in his tracks.

Catalyst for City’s goal when he stepped forward and his shot hit the bar.

Always steady and reliable, in the right place to clear Mina’s header.
