Cole Palmer has revealed he apologised after accidentally throwing his bottle at Mauricio Pochettino during Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
The 21-year-old launched his drink after the Gunners scored their equaliser and thought nothing much of it.
Little did he know that it would head in the direction of his manager and strike him.
Now the youngster has joked that the Argentine better not drop him after the mishap.
He told Chelsea's website: 'When they scored their second goal I was getting a drink. I went to throw the bottle away, as you do, but didn’t look.
'I just saw it loop dead slow and hit the gaffer. I said sorry to him and apologised properly after the game. Hopefully he won’t drop me for that!'
Thankfully Palmer had already mitigated the risk of any punishment by scoring the opening goal from the penalty spot.
It came after a tug of war with Raheem Sterling for the ball, with the two playing a footballing version of pass the parcel over who would get to take the penalty.
After Palmer initially picked the ball up, Sterling took it off him and the ball only returned to the youngster after further debate.
Palmer converted from 12 yards after a controversial handball penalty was given against William Saliba before Mykhailo Mudryk doubled the Blues' lead.
However, the Gunners rained on the Stamford Bridge parade with two late goals from Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard to ensure the spoils were shared.
Palmer has had a decent start a seven-year deal at Chelsea after his surprise £42.5million transfer from Manchester City.
Many thought he was going to assume a more prominent role at City after the exit of Riyad Mahrez and his two goals in the European Super Cup and Community Shield.
However, he has had to adapt to life in London and has scored two penalties in his last two outings.
Palmer led the line against Arsenal, marking a shift from his usual wide position with Nicolas Jackson on the bench and Armando Broja outwith a knee injury.
Despite their frustrations at the comeback, the result marked four games unbeaten for the Blues, which is a positive sign after a turbulent beginning to the campaign.
