Paul Ince said Manchester United are a bigger club than Liverpool ahead of the two teams' meeting at Anfield on Sunday.

Ince played for both clubs during his career, winning 10 pieces of silverware with United and none with Liverpool.

When he was asked in an interview by talkSPORT which of the two clubs is biggest, Ince responded: "Man United's got to be the biggest club, as much as I love Liverpool.

"From a historical point of view, Man United with the Busby Babes, all the stuff that's gone on historically. From winning trophies... Liverpool had their time with European Cups and that but I think if you looked at the biggest club, even from a financial point of view, you'd say Manchester United is the club that everybody talks about globally.

"There's Liverpool, Man United and Real Madrid but the biggest club has got to be Man United."

Ince was asked which club has the best academy set-up and once again plumped for United.

"I think Carrington is a fantastic set-up for kids," Ince said. "They've produced a lot of players out of that academy.

"You think of the players Liverpool have brought in, they've not been from the academy apart from Trent. Gomez came from Charlton and Robertson came from Hull.

"They (Liverpool) are bringing some players through so it will be interesting but at the moment I would say United."

Ince said United also have the best stadium and best kit but claimed Liverpool is the better place to live out of the two cities.
