Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony clashed with Forest Green Rovers chairman and wealthy Just Stop Oil backer Dale Vince as the duo contested contrasting views over the climate crisis.
Vince has been a significant contributor to the controversial Just Stop Oil movement, investing vast amounts in a bid to support the group in their public outrage protests.
The multi-millionaire Forest Green owner, who is the owner of British energy company Ecotricity, recently warned the eco-mob will continue to disrupt 'high-profile' sports on its 'target list' and was a guest on talkSPORT on Monday.
His views on climate change and Just Stop Oil prompted fierce debate with MacAnthony who was sat alongside show host Jim White in the studio.
The duo went back and forth with one another as their difference in opinions threatened to boil over as the Peterborough owner told Vince, who maintains a vegan only setting at Forest Green, that he is 'donating to a load of idiots'.
Interaction began as MacAnthony vented his frustration at some of Vince's claims about the climate crisis who responded by stating: 'You sound like Simon Jordan. You don't want to debate it with me.
A clearly aggravated MacAnthony retorted by explaining that this wasn't the time to debate the issue and added: 'Dale at the end of the day I am happy to sit there while you have your veggie burger and we can have a proper debate.
'You've made plenty of dough out of it, getting plenty of attention out of it and that's what you want to do.
He then further exercised his frustration at Vince's continued support of eco-mob Just Stop Oil who have become infamous for stopping traffic with slow marches across London, vandalising property and illegally interrupting sporting events.
Vince has contributed funds to support the groups initiatives and MacAnthony questioned why he would do so, labelling the group as 'morons'.
He added: 'You're donating to a load of idiots who run onto the streets, stopping traffic, there was a woman last week whose kid was ill and all these people who you give money to do that too were a cause of that.
'If a child died or someone had a heart attack in an ambulance because you put £500,000 into a cause where you have all of these morons who are stood in the street stopping traffic you lose support for the cause and eventually something is going to happen.'
Vince interjected trying to explain his point of view throughout the fierce debate and at one point added: 'Do you know how many people died in Europe last year summer because of the extreme temperatures that we experienced?'
White at one point had to step in to try and provide balance to the discussion with the contesting duo eventually ending their debate unable to convince the other of their point of view.
