Peterborough striker Jonson Clarke-Harris is set for his first international call-up after being linked with a spot in the Jamaica team that will face Catalunya next month.

The 27-year-old, who was born in Leicester, is likely to be selected by Reggae Boyz boss Paul Hall for next month’s game at the Montilivi Stadium in Girona on May 25th.

Hall is reportedly using the friendly to prepare his squad and take a look at new players ahead of the CONCACAF Nations League tournament in June.

Clarke-Harris, who has been one off the most prolific goal scorers outside the Premier League in recent seasons, has been a long term target for Hall.

The Jamaica manager is finally set to get his hands on Clarke-Harris - who has scored 44 goals in 87 appearances for Peterborough.

Clarke-Harris' performances this season have also caught the attention of several side's higher up in English football’s food chain. And the forward’s pending international breakthrough will only add to his reputation.

Clarke-Harris will join the likes of Michail Antonio in the Jamaica squad after he received his first international cap during their loss to Panama on 5 September 2021.

Antonio made little impact during his first game but when on to score his first goal for Jamaica in his second international appearance.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen's Gray, Norwich defender Aarons and Brentford striker Ivan Toney are on Jamaica's radar.

However, they are all hopeful of getting an England call-up and are reluctant to switch their international allegiance at this time, Sportsmail understands.
