Krzysztof Piatek reveals he left Milan because of competition from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. ‘I couldn’t imagine sitting on the bench for five games in a row.’
The Poland international spoke to Prawda Futbolu after rediscovering his form in Germany with Hertha BSC.
“The reason for my departure was the arrival of Ibrahimovic. I couldn’t imagine sitting on the bench for five or six games in a row,” confessed Piatek.
“When Ibra starts a match, he only drops out due to injuries. In the first few games after his arrival, I didn’t play a single minute.
“I was given an opportunity in the Coppa Italia, I scored and provided an assist. Despite that, I was right back on the bench straight away after.
“Perhaps I didn’t have patience, but that was the decision I made at the time.”
