Former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has opened up on the time he got in trouble with Pep Guardiola - for wearing short sleeves.
Club stalwart Pique retired in November, midway into his 15th season at the club after coming through the youth system.
He worked with Guardiola during the latter's four-year spell at the Nou Camp between 2008-2012.
And the 36-year-old veteran has revealed he was 'scolded' and fined by taskmaster Guardiola, now at Manchester City, for failing to dress warmly enough in cold weather.
He said: 'Once it was very cold in Barcelona, but I was wearing short sleeves.
'A photo of me in the snow and me in short sleeves appeared.
'Pep saw it and scolded me, fined me, didn't call me for the game and made me pay for a meal for the team, as I was putting my health at risk.'
Pique returned to his boyhood club from Barcelona in summer 2008, around a month before Guardiola became manager, and quickly became a key player in the heart of the defence.
The centre half won three LaLiga titles and two Champions League crowns under Guardiola, who then joined German giants Bayern Munich in 2012.
Guardiola's City side beat rivals Liverpool 4-1 on Saturday and lie second in the Premier League, eight points behind leaders Arsenal but with a game in hand.
Their next match sees them travel to struggling Southampton on Saturday.
