Pochettino confirms both Messi & Verratti are fit to face Man City in Champions League game

Messi returns

Lionel Messi shocked the world when he joined PSG after being released by Barcelona due to financial regulations but is yet to set the world alight for the Parisians.

The 34 year old is yet to provide a goal or an assist in his three appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, virtually a drought for a man as used to finding the back of the net as he is.

However, he has been hit with an injury setback that has seen him miss a pair of Ligue 1 encounters, including their most recent one.

A day before a massive Champions League clash with Manchester City though, Messi has been spotted in full training with his PSG teammates.

Could he be thrust straight back into the fire?

Gianluigi Donnarumma to start

In goal too, there is set to be change, as new signing Gianluigi Donnarumma is due to start between the sticks instead of Costa Rican shot-stopper Keylor Navas.

As per reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Euro 2020 player of the tournament will begin in goal, only his 3rd start since he joined the French outfit on a free transfer from AC Milan this summer.

Still only 22-years-old, Donnarumma will know that he will be a mainstay of Paris Saint Germain’s side for a decade or so if he can nail down a place in the starting XI.

A clean sheet against the English champions would do him no end of good.
