Pochettino takes Tottenham training during warm weather camp

Mauricio Pochettino put his side through their paces in Barcelona as Tottenham's warm-weather camp got underway.

The session didn't quite live up to the name, as players such as Dele Alli were pictured wearing gloves and headbands as they practiced at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

The north London club have used a break in their domestic schedule to regroup following a tough run of results, with the top-four chasing side not back in Premier League action until March 31.

That will coincide with a daunting trip to high-flying Liverpool, a match that could have been billed as a clash between title rivals, until Spurs' recent form tripped them up.

A run of three straight defeats on the road has busted their hopes of top spot in the Premier League, while also putting them in danger of missing out on the top four, such is the form of those behind them in the table.

Following their most recent loss against struggling Southampton, Pochettino had a message for his stars that he hopes will be heeded going into their camp.

'That shows we still have a lot of work to do,' the Argentinean had said after surrendering a 1-0 lead at St Mary's Stadium. 'That shows that we are not mature enough.

'If you want to be a real contender, we cannot arrive here with the arrogance of a Champions League quarter-finalist.

'I am so, so, so disappointed. It's about complacency, and arrogance.'

'I am so critical with myself and with the team because if you want to be a real contender, in the top four or fight for big things, we cannot arrive here with arrogance.

'We played the first half like one of the top eight teams in Europe, in the second half it was the opposite.'

Tottenham have made it through to the last eight of the Champions League. They'll find out their opponents on Friday.
