Chelsea look set to take their summer transfer spend over £300million as Mauricio Pochettino closes in on securing the signature of his priority target Moises Caicedo

Chelsea are set for a busy few weeks before the summer transfer window closes at the end of the month. The Blues are closing in on a £115million deal to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo after months of negotiating with Roberto De Zerbi's side.

The Guardian reporter Jacob Steinberg has revealed that Pochettino wants to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, another goalkeeper and a striker. Lavia and Caicedo will significantly bolster Chelsea's midfield options - with Olise set to add more attacking creativity to the squad after Christopher Nkunku's injury.

Robert Sanchez was signed from Brighton this summer - making his debut against Liverpool on Sunday. Kepa Arrizabalaga is closing in on a loan move to Real Madrid following Thibaut Courtois' anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Therefore, Pochettino will need to sign another goalkeeper after Edouard Mendy's exit earlier this summer. Nicolas Jackson impressed on his debut for the Blues against Jurgen Klopp's side but - with Romelu Lukaku expected to leave - another striker would add competition and quality to the Blues attack.
