Paul Pogba has tried to put his Manchester United woes behind him as he posed with the World Cup trophy after arriving for France duty on Monday.

The 25-year-old has had a frustrating start to the season at Old Trafford with poor form and a row with Jose Mourinho ensuring things haven't quite gone to plan since he won the World Cup with France in the summer.

As he re-united with Dider Deschamps' squad at Clairefontaine on Monday though, Pogba looked delighted to be back on home soil and took part in a celebratory photo shoot with the Jules Rimet Trophy.

In a video posted on Instagram, Pogba can be seen pulling a series of poses with the trophy in one arm in front of a plain background.

He even brought out the 'dab' pose that he made so famous.

Tensions between Pogba and United manager Mourinho have been worsening over recent weeks amid the backdrop of United's terrible start to the season.

Pogba, who returned to Old Trafford in a then world record £89million transfer from Juventus in 2016, wants to leave United and join Barcelona following his fall-out with Mourinho.

United are adamant Pogba will not be sold in the January transfer window whether Mourinho remains in his job or not.

Earlier on Monday the midfielder, wearing gold earrings and a woolly hat with 'Supreme' emblazoned on it, smiled and gave the thumbs up for the cameras as he checked in at the national team's Clairefontaine base.

The world champions have a friendly match against Iceland in Guingamp on Thursday evening before continuing their UEFA Nations League campaign against Germany at Stade de France in Paris next Tuesday.

France are in a strong position in their Nations League group having drawn 0-0 away to Germany and defeated Holland 2-1 in their opening two fixtures last month.
