Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has urged supporters to use his trademark 'dab' celebration as a way to combat the spread of coronavirus.

The French midfielder took to social media on Friday afternoon to share advice on how people can do their part to help limit COVID-19.

Pogba posted an image of himself doing the 'dab' on his Twitter account along with instructions telling supporters to cover their face when they cough and sneeze.

"We must all BE READY for coronavirus," the post began. "Dab when you cough. Dab when you sneeze. Dab to beat coronavirus," followed by links to the United Nations and the World Health Organization.

United's trip to face Tottenham this weekend has been cancelled as a result of the outbreak, but the players still reported at the club's Carrington training complex on Friday morning.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are set for a prolonged break from action with the Premier League and Uefa competitions set to suspended for the foreseeable future.

United's Europa League second leg against LASK next Thursday had already been postponed as a precaution following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The infectious disease has hit football in recent weeks, with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi among those to test positive. A number of Premier League clubs are also in self-isolation.
