Juventus have confirmed that Paul Pogba has re-signed for the club on a free transfer following the expiry of his Man Utd contract.

The France international midfielder, 29, returns to the Turin club on a free transfer after his Old Trafford contract expired, bringing an end to an underwhelming six year second spell there.

Pogba arrived in Italy on a private jet on Friday and his medical took place on Saturday before he put pen to paper on his latest Juventus deal.

It has been reported that Pogba has agreed a four-year contract with the Italian giants.

'I am back, I'm here, I'm very, very happy. I can't wait to get started and wear this Juventus jersey again,' Pogba told the club's Twitter account after jetting back from Miami.

Pogba will hope to replicate the success of his four-year stint with Juventus between 2012 and 2016, which saw him win four consecutive Serie A titles and establish a reputation as one of the world's most dynamic midfielders.

It was this form that persuaded United to break the world transfer record to bring him back to Manchester in the summer of 2016.

The £89million man helped Jose Mourinho's team win the Europa League and the EFL Cup during his first season back but further silverware eluded him.

Pogba, who scored 39 times in 226 matches during his second spell at United, came to symbolise their decline from a title-challenging force to struggling to make the top six.

It ended in acrimony, with Pogba jeered as he left the pitch during a match with Norwich at Old Trafford, with frustrated United fans chanting 'f*** off Pogba' as he cupped his ear in response.

Ahead of his second exit, Pogba has also irked United supporters for perhaps the final time after clips of his new documentary were released earlier this month.

One section of the documentary shows Pogba and his late agent Mino Raiola discussing a £300,000-a-week contract offer from the Red Devils, which he branded 'nothing'.

'How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing?' he said. 'Never seen that.'

To compound matters for United fans, Pogba received a £3.78million loyalty bonus as he left the club.

The 2018 World Cup winner will hope to resurrect his career in the familiar surroundings of Turin and also restore Juventus to the status of title challengers after success for the two Milan clubs of late.

Having worked out with former Juventus star Paulo Dybala in the United States this week, Pogba was filmed gleefully rubbing his hands together during his flight back to Turin, saying 'it's time' on Instagram.

In the same video of himself on the private jet, Pogba used the hashtag 'PogAlmostBack' – a reference to the 'PogBack' phrase United used when they themselves re-signed him six years ago.

Wearing black and white – Juventus' colours – Pogba says to the camera: 'It's time...it's time. Yes sir. Ci vediamo presto' - which translates in Italian to 'see you soon'.

He also briefly showed fans a glimpse of his flight path from Miami to presumably Turin.

Juventus are set for the pre-season tour of the United States later this month.

They play Mexican club Guadalajara in Las Vegas on July 22, Barcelona in Dallas on July 26 and Real Madrid in Los Angeles on July 30 as part of the Soccer Champions Tour.

They will open their league campaign at home to Sassuolo on August 15.
