The police will help Manchester United to identify those who subjected Paul Pogba to racist insults and death threats after he missed a penalty in the 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Shortly after Rui Patrício, the Wolves goalkeeper, saved Pogba's spot kick on Monday night, racist trolls bombarded the United midfielder with vile posts on Twitter.
Greater Manchester police will assist the club, who will issue lifetime bans to those who are found to have sent the tweets.
