Bernardo Silva, Cristiano Ronaldo and Goncalo Guedes were on target as Portugal closed on a spot at Euro 2020 with a comfortable 3-0 win over Luxembourg.

Cristiano Ronaldo was on the scoresheet as Portugal coasted past Luxembourg in Euro 2020 qualifying Group B.
Manchester City midfielder Silva scored the easiest of openers 16 minutes into Friday's Group B clash in Lisbon and Ronaldo's excellent chip in the second half doubled the lead.
Substitute Guedes added late gloss and in truth, the European champions should have won by a bigger scoreline, with Ronaldo uncharacteristically profligate prior to his goal.
Still, Fernando Santos' men were rarely troubled in the capital and, with a four-point buffer to third and just three games remaining, Portugal took another step towards qualification.

SAVE! Fernandes crosses the ball into the box and Chanot hooks it into the air. Portugal then probe down the opposite flank and the ball falls nicely for Fernandes to strike. His shot has plenty of sting but Moris keeps it out at the second attempt.

GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!! PORTUGAL 2-0 LUXEMBOURG! Ronaldo moves to within one goal of his 700th in senior football! Luxembourg are far too sloppy in possession and Ronaldo capitalises by pouncing on a loose pass, closing in on goal and lifting the ball over a stranded Moris. That is a superb finish!

There's carnage in the box as a couple of Portugal players, including Ronaldo, go to the ground. Silva tries to keep the attack alive but his cutback is blocked. Replays show there was definitely a little bit of contact on Ronaldo - it should have been a penalty.

GOOOOOAAALLLLL!!! PORTUGAL 3-0 LUXEMBOURG! The visitors are unable to clear the corner and Guedes, only on the field for 10 minutes or so, fires the ball past Moris with the help of a deflection off a Luxembourg player in front of goal.
