Despite two FA Cup semi-final ties, the six Premier League encounters that took place over the weekend created plenty of talking points as we head into the final few weeks of the season.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored another hat-trick and kept Manchester United in the race for the top four, while both Tottenham and Arsenal fell to surprising losses against Brighton and Southampton respectively.
Yet given the absence of eight teams, who took advantage and entered Sportsmail's Power Rankings - and who is No 1?
10. Bernardo Silva (down six)
A new entry last week but out of Premier League action due to his FA Cup exploits with Manchester City means the midfielder takes a sizeable tumble down the order.
Not aiding the Portuguese star was the FA Cup offering any sort of clues that he was still ticking along nicely, with his side going down 3-2 at Wembley against Liverpool.
Granted he found the net for City one minute into stoppage time but by then it was too little too late.
He will be looking to pick up from where he left off against Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday.
9. Sadio Mane (non-mover)
Sadio Mane was on fire at the weekend, netting twice in a stunning display that effectively left City beat at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final.
The forward had one of his best games for the club, scoring twice including one opportunistic effort where his hard work rate in closing down City keeper Zack Steffen into a mistake.
And yet for all his hard work, Mane doesn't even move the needle in the power rankings that only reflects the Premier League's matchround output.
What he did prove though was that he does not look like dropping out of form anytime soon and therefore he cements his place from the previous week.
8. Harry Kane (down six)
Hero to zero stuff for the Tottenham talisman. One minute he is seen as back on form and leading Spurs's top four charge, the next he becomes the villain.
Fickle fans striking again after Tottenham's surprise 1-0 home defeat by Brighton? Perhaps so but the England captain hardly helped himself by jetting off to the United States to watch the Masters last week shortly after his side's win over Aston Villa.
Jet-lagged or not, it wasn't a good look to see him struggling to get involved and looking rather lethargic at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
No shots on target from Tottenham summed it all up and he takes a heavy fall in the rankings as a result.
7. Virgil van Dijk (down one)
Like his team-mate Mane, Van Dijk was never going to go up in the rankings while only being in FA Cup action this week.
But the Reds defender takes a slight dip in the standings as it just might look like his previous stunning run of clean sheets and the form that came with it is coming to an end.
Granted he wasn't alongside regular defensive partner Joel Matip - instead partnering with Ibrahima Konate - but that's now four goals conceded in two games for the Dutchman, even if they did come against arguably the best side in Europe in Manchester City.
Still, would you be surprised if he turned up against Manchester United at Anfield on Tuesday and restored that watertight backline again for the Reds?
6. Leandro Trossard (new entry)
So who is the current King of north London? If your answer features a player wearing either a lilywhite shirt or a red & white shirt then you are bang wrong.
Because it's Brighton's Trossard who takes that crown having netted winning goals in subsequent matches at Arsenal and Tottenham to secure six big points that all but secures their Premier League safety for another season.
Having netted the opening goal in the 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium last weekend, the forward went one better at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by firing in a last minute winner.
It represents a remarkable turnaround in form for the Belgian whose goals are his first since Boxing Day, with the wins also being his first for the club since New Year's Day.
5. Son Heung-min (down four)
No player was on a hotter streak than Son Heung-min having topped the rankings last week following his hat-trick in Tottenham's win 4-0 win at Aston Villa.
But with Spurs on form and chomping on the bit for a top four spot, he and his team-mates choked again when opportunity knocked by slumping to a 1-0 defeat by Brighton.
Tottenham not having a single shot on target was a damning statistic for the home side and while nobody among Antonio Conte's side could hold their head up high after a poor performance, Son barely made an impact in attack.
Needs to prove, like Kane, it was just a one-off performance at Brentford next weekend.
4. Kevin de Bruyne (down one)
Another weekend absentee due to FA Cup action but even then the Belgian did not make an appearance at Wembley.
De Bruyne was left on the bench as City were deservedly beaten 3-2 by Liverpool but even if it was a case of preserving fresh legs, it was strange to not see Pep Guardiola call upon his talisman during the semi-final.
If anything though it proves just how valuable De Bruyne is to Guardiola ahead of the Premier League run in and the title race.
A return to the starting XI and a typical starring performance will surely see him climb back into the top three.
3. Bruno Guimaraes (new entry)
We have a new hero on Tyneside and for the first time in a long while at St James' Park, the future is looking bright.
Early season thoughts of relegation are now banished and following some January recruitments, it looks like the pick of the bunch could be Brazilian Bruno Guimaraes.
His two-goal show to complete a comeback win over Leicester - including a winner five minutes into stoppage time - earned him rave reviews following his performance.
So it's no wonder to see him blast into the top three as a new entry and the Newcastle midfielder could make many more appearances in the power rankings over the next year...
2. Cristiano Ronaldo (new entry)
Top after a recent hat-trick against Tottenham, and now another treble in the 3-2 win over Norwich sees Manchester United's talisman blast back into the top three.
He may be blowing hot or cold these days but just how important has the 37-year-old been to United this season?
Granted he hasn't been able to turn the Red Devils into title winners following his much hyped comeback but just how worse would United be without his goals.
Six goals in three games shows a forward not short of confidence but the big test for the Portuguese will come at Anfield on Tuesday as United hope to keep their top four ambitions alive.
1. Christian Eriksen (up seven)
It's remarkable how much Eriksen has transformed Brentford in recent weeks. He has played 90 minutes five times since his debut and on each occasion the Bees have taken three points.
That includes at the weekend where the Dane set up Pontus Jansson to score a winning goal five minutes into added time at Watford.
Before his first-team involvement, the Bees had looked to be heading towards a relegation battle.
Now though on 39 points and in 11th they look safe for another campaign - with Eriksen now set to face his former club Tottenham next up.
