QPR's Twitter account appeared to be the victim of a cyber attack on Wednesday morning with a number of vulgar and offensive messages sent out.
The tweets, which were later deleted, contained references to the N-word and messages about 'c**k' and 's***'.
The Championship club have over 444,000 followers on Twitter.
Former winger Andy Sinton also appeared to have been hacked with N-word tweets also coming from his account before they were retweeted by QPR.
Tweets that came from QPR's official account included 'c**k is nice', 'I s*** my pants brb', '@afl is better' and 'what's up n*****'.
The club confirmed to Sportsmail that they were quickly able to resolve the hack and are now working with Twitter to reduce the risk of this happening again in the future.
The Hoops were in action on Tuesday night, where they held Championship leaders Norwich to a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road.
Teemu Pukki's spot-kick looked like it had secured three points for Norwich before Bright Osayi-Samuel earned a point for Rangers in the 84th minute, converting from the spot after Christoph Zimmermann had bundled him over.
The result lifted some of the pressure on manager Mark Warburton, with Rangers 19th in the table and five points above the relegation zone.
Sinton, 54, made 141 league appearances for QPR in a four-year stint at Loftus Road between 1989 and 1993. He also won 12 England caps.
