The Colombian player penned a new deal with the Buenos Aires based outfit that will see him wear the iconic red sash shirt though to 2022.

Following his recent spectacular goals for River Plate in the Superliga Argentina and rumours linking him with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, Juan Fernando Quintero has put pen to paper and will stay with River.

The Colombian moved to Buenos Aires from his last permanent club Portuguese top flight side Porto after spells with Rennes and Independiente Medellín in his native Colombia before moving to argentina in January 2018.

The new deal will see Quintero remain with "Los Millionarios" through to 2022 with the player holding a buy-out clause of 30 million dollars.

The play-maker has worn the River shirt in 42 games and has already bagged one Supercopa Argentina and a Copa Libertadores.
