RB Leipzig vs. Celtic: UEL probable line-ups & match stats

  /  autty

RB Leipzig and Timo Werner can take an important step towards UEFA Europa League Group B qualification when they host Scottish champions Celtic on Thursday (kick-off: 6:55pm CEST/5:55pm BST/12:55pm ET).

Latest

Leipzig are on an excellent run of six competitive games without defeat, and have not lost at all in the Bundesliga since the opening weekend. Free-scoring at home, Die Roten Bullen have netted 24 goals in their eight competitive matches in front of their own fans this term with Werner, Yussuf Poulsen and Jean-Kevin Augustin all having four to their name at the Red Bull Arena. Leipzig are currently level on points with Celtic ahead of this clash, and Ralf Rangnick has an almost full squad to choose from. Only Emil Forsberg remains a doubt with a groin injury, while Yann Mvogo is set to continue his Europa League run in goal in place of Peter Gulacsi.

Domestic champions for the last seven years running, Celtic currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership after a slow start but have since won their last three league outings. James Forrest recently scored four at St. Johnstone but is suspended in Leipzig after a red card at Red Bull Salzburg. Odsonne Edouard, who won the 2015 UEFA European U-17 Championship for France alongside RB’s Dayot Upamecano, has four goals in eight games this season, while the Glasgow club are sweating over the fitness of captain Scott Brown and striker Leigh Griffiths.

Watch: Leipzig put six past Nuremberg
