Chelsea injury news: The latest Blues updates from the treatment room after losing 2-0 to Aston Villa.

Despite a host of international break fears Graham Potter had little to hide behind after his Chelsea side lost once more. A goal in either half from Ollie Watkins and John McGinn saw Aston Villa take a 2-0 victory from Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The defeat has put immense pressure on the Blues boss once more but unlike previous toils, the former Brighton man doesn't have the excuse of mounting injuries to foul back on. Chelsea welcomed back Reece James, Christian Pulisic, N'Golo Kante and Mason Mount despite fears and uncertainties leading into the game.

Although Wesley Fofana and Raheem Sterling missed the game this was a near full-strength squad for the 47-year-old to pick from. Kante made his return to the pitch, the first appearance since August, whilst Mount was an unused substitute.

What Potter has said: "Raheem is coming back. He will miss the game, think he's got more chance for Tuesday. He was close."

Injury: Hamstring

Expected return date: Liverpool (H) - April 4

He didn't make the team against Villa though, with Potter saying he wasn't ready.

Fofana was later spotted in the dugout at Stamford Bridge with an ice pack on his right thigh, leaving some supporters to fear the worst. As such, he remained in England in an effort to make a return against Aston Villa, but that doesn't seem possible, with a return against Liverpool more likely.

What Potter has said: "Wesley is going to miss the game because his hamstring is still a little bit tight, there's a chance for Tuesday with him."
