Raheem Sterling has been linked with a shock transfer to London rivals Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window after signing for Chelsea prior to the 2022/23 campaign
Chelsea completed the £45million signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City last summer but has struggled in his debut season at Stamford Bridge. The England international has been hampered with injuries and has failed to hit the level of form he showed during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
The forward has already made his feelings clear on Arteta, having praised him after working with him at Manchester City. "The manager [Pep Guardiola] trusted him [Arteta] here and he had a lot of influence on the players here and the team as well," Sterling said back in 2020.
"So I knew once he went into Arsenal that it would be a great opportunity for him but also he would definitely implement what he wanted to bring in. And he's a person that will put his foot down and not let things slide as you can see with the boys at Arsenal.
"They know if they don't run they are most likely not going to play. You can see the change that he's brought in there, you can see the energy, you can see how much he's put into them with their off-ball work."
Now Kelly Hogarth, who represents the England star, has provided an update on his future at Stamford Bridge. Hogarth said: “Sterling has expressed no discontent with Chelsea and having committed his long-term future to the new ownership this summer, there is to be no review of his position in the upcoming transfer window.
“He very much looks forward to building upon the success of previous seasons.” It looks as though Sterling will be staying at Chelsea for next season rather than swapping west London for north London in the summer.
