Sergio Ramos, the legendary Spain and Real Madrid defender, has been hitting the New York museums as he enjoys some needed downtime after the end of the European soccer season.

The 37-year-old and his glamorous TV presenter wife Pilar Rubio, 45, headed to The Met and the MoMa on their time in the Big Apple and shared plenty of updates with their thousands of followers on Instagram.

Ramos, a World Cup winner with Spain and a four-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, is currently without a team after it was announced he would follow Lionel Messi out the exit door at French giant Paris Saint-Germain.

And judging by his latest pictures on social media in the United States, he looks like he'd be happy playing for a Major League Soccer team - like his ex-PSG teammate Messi, who is joining Inter Miami.

So too Rubio herself, who captioned a video of her seeing Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night at the MoMa, as well as Karl Lagerfield exhibition, with: 'Visited the Met museum with my love Sergio Ramos.

'One of the plans we've wanted to do for a long time. Unforgettable experiences: Karl Lagerfield 'A line of beauty', Vincent Van Gogh 'Starry Night'... a whole dream come true'.

Ramos himself was also in Florida over the weekend, taking one of the best seats in the house at the UFC event there.

The Spaniard revealed his PSG departure earlier this month, days before the team's last game of the season.

'Tomorrow is a special day, tomorrow I will say goodbye to another stage of my life, goodbye to PSG,' he wrote on social media.

'I don't know in how many places one can feel at home, but without a doubt PSG, the fans, and Paris were one of them for me.

"Thank you for two special years in which I was able play in every tournament and give my all. I will face new challenges, I will wear other colours, but first, and for the last time: #AllezParis.'
