Rangers have seen their efforts to sign Curtis Jones on loan from Liverpool hit the rocks after his starring display in their FA Cup win over Everton.
Liverpool defeated their Merseyside rivals 1-0 at Anfield last Sunday with Jones scoring a stunning second half goal to seal progress into round four of the competition.
And, according to Football Insider, his display forced Jurgen Klopp to change his mind over letting Jones leave on loan and link up with Liverpool icon and Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.
After the win over Everton, Klopp underlined his admiration of the 18-year-old midifelder.
'He's an unbelievable player,' Klopp said. 'A scouser, very confident, can't wait to play in the first team. He has made big steps. He will be a Liverpool player if nothing strange happens, 100 per cent.'
Jones could have more opportunities ahead of him in the coming weeks with fellow midfielders James Milner and Naby Keita injured.
