Barcelona showed Real Madrid they still have a long way to go to catch them up as they beat them 4-0 in Sunday's women's Clasico at the Alfredo di Stefano stadium.

Goals from Ana-Maria Crnogorcvic, Patri Guijarro, Aitana Bonmati and Fridolina Rolfo sealed the emphatic win which took Barça five points clear at the top of Liga F.

Barca, with eight wins from eight, are followed by Madrid CFF, with Atletico Madrid and Levante then seven points back.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are fifth, but they could move level with Madrid CFF if they win their game in hand.

Madrid came into this game unbeaten this season and doing well domestically and in the Champions League, but once again Barca were too strong for them.

It took Crnogorcvic just four minutes to open the scoring and Patri doubled the visitor's lead at the end of the first half.

Two more goals followed after the break, with Aitana adding the third after Crnogorcvic had pulled the ball back to her inside the box following Rolfo's cross.

Rolfo herself then completed the scoring light on as Barca made light work of Madrid even without injured trio Alexia Putellas, Caroline Graham Hansen and Mariona Caldentey.
