Real Madrid are reportedly hopeful of landing Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe next summer.
The World Cup winner has been frequently linked with a move to the Bernabeu with Real boss Zinedine Zidane a long-term admirer of the striker.
Real are optimistic that Mbappe will not sign a new deal at the French champions, according to Marca.
The prolific forward's current contract at the club expires in the summer of 2022, meaning that if he does not put pen to paper on new terms he could depart the club for free that year.
Real are therefore reportedly hopeful that they can snap him up at a potentially cheaper price in the summer transfer window in 2021 with the risk PSG face of losing him for nothing the following year.
Mbappe, who made the switch to PSG for £166million in 2017, has notched 90 goals in 120 matches in the French capital.
The 21-year-old said last summer that he is open to 'a new project' away from the Parc des Princes.
Zidane has previously said that he is aware it is Mbappe's 'dream' to play for the LaLiga giants.
Real could be crowned league champions on Thursday night should they secure victory over Villarreal at home.
