Real Madrid could now delay presenting Eden Hazard at the Santiago Bernabeu until after the date of the launch of their new kit for next season.
The new Adidas strip of all white with gold trim is set to be unveiled on Friday, June 7. Hazard could model the new shirt the following week after international duty finishes with Belgium.
The Chelsea Europa League winner still has two more competitive games to play. Belgium play Kazakhstan on Saturday June 8 and Scotland at home on Tuesday June 11.
With only 100m euros (£89m) net spend this summer Hazard will end up being the club's only 'galactico' signing if Real Madrid are unable to sell big-name players in the next three months.
Other signings such as Lyon's Ferland Mendy and Eintracht Frankfurt's Luka Jovic could follow but they will not have the same weight as Hazard's arrival.
That would make it even more important that the club maximise the impact of Hazard's arrival and Adidas agree.
Real Madrid have recently extended their deal with Adidas until 2028 for a reported 120m euros (£106m) a season. Combining their kit launch with the player's arrival suit both club and brand.
Former players have been lining up to hail Hazard's imminent arrival.
Fernando Morientes who played for Liverpool as well as Madrid said: 'He will bring creativity, he can play a final ball, he can score goals, for the final third of the pitch he is perfect for Real Madrid and he is the kind of signing that will excite the supporters.'
