Real Madrid are aiming to secure silverware in their first match of the 2024-25 season when they take on Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup final. Carlo Ancelotti has multiple selection dilemmas ahead of the match, although one of those could have been solved for him – but not in the way he wanted.
As per Diario AS, Eduardo Camavinga was forced to leave training after being on the end of a strong challenge. The French midfielder, who was holding his knee, was seen in real discomfort as he headed for the medical room.
Relevo reporter Rodra has stated that it could only be a knock for Camavinga, although with 24 hours to go until the UEFA Super Cup final kicks off, it could be unlikely that he recovers in time to make an appearance.
Real Madrid will be desperate for Camavinga to be okay. Their squad is already relatively thin because of the lack of signings, and the last thing that Ancelotti needs is a serious injury before the season has started – especially as it’d be for the second year in a row (Thibaut Courtois in 2023).
