Varane has communicated to Real Madrid that he wants to move this summer, Los Blancos want €100m for the French defender according to Spanish TV program El Chiringuito.

The centre back, who was upset with the club and according to this television program, has already made it clear that this summer will leave the club.

Not too long ago Varane renewed his contract with Los Blancos until 2022. But certain things have transpired in the past few months that have frustrated the Frenchman, who has used those around him during the international break to circulate the idea that he could leave this summer in search of a new challenge.

Real will look to Koulibaly if Varane leaves

Meanwhile, El Chiringuito de Jugones also reported that Varane’s teammates in the Madrid dressing room have been less than impressed by his lack of leadership during a tough season for the club and for a lack of concentration on the pitch.

Varane’s contract at Real Madrid runs until 2022 after he signed a new deal last year and he has an eye-watering release clause of 500 million euros.

Should the France international push for a transfer, Real are likely to turn their attention to long-term Zidane target Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Senegal international has been in excellent form for Napoli but will also be an expensive prospect for suitors.

However, the 27-year-old also recently committed to the Serie A club, who extended his contract until 2023 and added a minimum release clause that will rise to 150 million euros at the end of next season.
