Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema was the victim of a robbery while he was playing for the Spanish giants on Sunday.

LaLiga leaders Madrid scored a late equaliser to salvage a draw against lowly Elche at the Bernabeu, in a game where Benzema missed a first-half penalty.
And the 34-year-old France international found out after the game that his luxury home in the Spanish capital had been robbed while he was playing.

As detailed by Spanish outlet 20 minutos, via Marca, the police say the robbery took place between 15:00 and 19:00 CET while the house in the Madrid suburbs was empty.
The robbers reportedly broke into the house in San Sebastián de los Reyes through the garden.
As it stands, details of the items taken are not known.

It is not the first time Benzema has been a victim of a robbery at his home, with a previous incident occurring in February 2019.
And it capped a tough day for the striker, who was substituted by Carlo Ancelotti in the 58th minute against Elche after picking up an injury.
Madrid now don't play until they travel to Athletic Bilbao in a Copa del Rey quarter-final on Thursday February 3.
