Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic could be set for a move back to Germany after a disappointing debut season in LaLiga, according to reports.

The 22-year-old made the move to the Bernabeu from Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt in a £62million deal last summer but he has failed to make an impact in Spain.

Premier League side Leicester have been linked with a move for the striker and now Hertha Berlin have expressed a desire to sign Jovic, according to Marca.

Hertha are reportedly keen on bringing in the forward in the hope that he can propel them up the Bundesliga standings next season.

The club finished in 10th place this season after winning 11 of their 34 matches during the 2019-20 campaign.

Jovic is out of favour under Real boss Zinedine Zidane after scoring just two goals in 25 games since joining the club in June 2019.

His last goal came in a 4-1 victory over Osasuna back in February after breaking his duck last October.

Jovic's most recent appearance came as a substitute in Real's 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on July 5 but he is now self-isolating after having a visitor the day after, who subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

The forward made a name for himself at Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 27 goals and supplying seven assists in 48 appearances in the 2018-19 season, which earned him the switch to LaLiga giants Real - who could be crowned league champions on Thursday night.
