Espanyol asked for a second yellow card after Vinicius Junior's fouled David Lopez in the 40th minute of the game against Real Madrid.
However, MARCA's referee expert, Juan Andujar Oliver, has indicated that the foul wasn't intentional as it came after the Brazilian slipped on the pitch.
"[Vinicius] knocks David Lopez down, but [the challenge] comes after him slipping," he told Radio MARCA.
"[Referee] Jaime Latre was right to not show a red card to the Real Madrid forward."
Vinicius was previously shown a yellow card 17 minutes into the game after a late challenge on Espanyol goalkeeper Diego Lopez.
