Arsenal midfielder Reiss Nelson looks set to leave the club this summer and he has dropped a hint that he could be on the way to another Premier League club.

The 21-year-old has made 47 first-team appearances for the Gunners - in which he has scored four goals and provided four assists - but featured just nine times last season.

Nelson has two years remaining on his contract in North London but does not appear to be likely to break into the thinking of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta for the coming campaign.

Having impressed on loan at German club Hoffenheim during the 2018-19 season - scoring seven goals in the Bundesliga - another temporary exit for the coming season.

The midfielder has ‘liked’ a post on Instagram linking him with a move to Premier League club Brighton, who could be an ideal destination for the player.

The Seagulls have been linked with a move for Nelson earlier this summer via  CBS Sports , who also said that London clubs Brentford (promoted to the Premier League this summer) and Crystal Palace (now managed by Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira) are in the running.

It looks set to be a busy summer of comings and goings at the Emirates and youth graduate Nelson could be one of the players who has to look elsewhere for regular first-team football.

He has now ‘liked’ from a Brighton fan page that suggested he could be on his way to play in Graham Potter’s side next season on the south coast.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has previously said of Nelson: "With Reiss I would like to give him more.

"He's a boy who trains really hard, he wants to do extra all the time but it's very difficult at the moment with the players that we have to fit him.

"I feel sorry that we don't have other competitions to use him because he deserves more. If he doesn't play more it's my fault."

The Gunners have already been busy in the transfer market during the summer window having acquired left-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica.

Deals are also close for Brighton defender Ben White and Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga of Anderlecht.

A number of players are thought to be available for sale this summer including former club captain Granit Xhaka and long-serving right-back Hector Bellerin.

The futures of players such as Lucas Torreira, Willian, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah also appear to be uncertain.

The club missed out on European qualification for the first time in 25 years last season and are now gearing up for an important campaign with multiple changes in the playing staff expected.
