Richard Keys has claimed Mikel Arteta needs to show 'more class' after criticising the Arsenal boss for the way he celebrated during the Gunners' 3-1 win over Liverpool.
Arsenal blew the title race wide open as goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard at the Emirates moved them to within two points of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
Arteta was spotted wildly celebrating Martinelli's goal, which came after a blunder by Alisson and Virgil van Dijk, and sprinted in front of the Arsenal bench following Trossard's strike in stoppage time.
But Keys said the Arsenal boss had showed a lack of dignity and class with his behaviour as he again took aim at the Spaniard.
'Today is worth celebrating as they've beaten one of the big teams and it's critical as the title race opens up as a result,' Keys said on beIN Sports.
'But I do wish, first of all, that Mikel Arteta would behave much better. He's returned to behaving the way he was persistently last year before the rules were changed to check him and keep him in his dugout.
'I just wish he'd have a little more class about him when Liverpool handed them the second goal, and the third one, off he goes again.
'If you stick one in the top corner to go 2-1 up, OK, but that's a gift.
'I just think Arteta needs to show a little more dignity, especially when the goals were presents.'
Fans however were quick to accuse Keys himself of showing a lack of class in his personal life.
In June, Keys secretly tied the knot with his daughter's friend after previously denying falling in love with the young lawyer while his wife was fighting cancer.
The former Sky Sports presenter 66, married Lucie Rose, 35, in a £20,000 ceremony attended by family and friends, which did not include his daughter Jemma or son Joshua.
He split with Julia Keys after 36 years of marriage when news of his shock relationship emerged in 2016, with his ex revealing how the affair 'devastated' her as she recovered from thyroid cancer and also wrecked the lives of their two children.
Keys resigned from his £500,000-a-year job fronting Sky's Premier League coverage in 2011 after making disparaging remarks about female linesman Sian Massey-Ellis.
'Richard Keys talking about class will never not be funny,' one fan wrote on X.
Another said: 'If shamelessness was a person.'
A third wrote: 'Richard Keys/Dignity. Pot, kettle, black.'
Jamie Carragher was also involved in a social media row as he clashed with Norwegian TV pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft after the match.
Ex-Middlesbrough and Sheffield United striker Fjortoft had criticised Carragher for poking fun at Martin Odegaard's celebrations after full-time.
Speaking on Sky Sports' commentary, Carragher fumed as Odegaard was seen taking a camera from a photographer, before proceeding to take several pictures of the cameraman in front of home supporters behind the goal.
Gary Neville said the manner of Arsenal's celebrations showed how there was 'still a little bit of immaturity' in the Gunners team.
