Brazil star Richarlison has revealed he will seek 'psychological help' on his return to Tottenham' after the international break, with the forward looking to work on his mind following a 'turbulent time' off the field.

The Spurs striker had been left in tears after being substituted during Brazil's 5-1 win over Bolivia on Saturday.

Richarlison had missed a golden chance to score before being substituted, with the 26-year-old then been visually emotional on the bench.

He was also substituted in the 64th minute of Brazil's 1-0 win over Peru on Tuesday, ending the international break without a goal.

Richarlison, who has faced scrutiny for a lack of goals at Tottenham, revealed post-match that he been impacted by off the field events, where people with an eye on his money 'walked away' from him.

The striker said this had contributed to his emotional reaction against Bolivia in Belem, adding he will seek 'psychological help' at Tottenham.

‘I went through a turbulent time in the last five months off the field. Now things are right at home. People who only had an eye on my money walked away from me,' Richarlison told the Brazilian newspaper Globo.

‘Now things will start to flow, I’m sure I’ll get a good run at Tottenham and make things happen again.

‘That sad moment wasn’t even because I played poorly, in my opinion I didn’t play a bad game in Belem, it was more of an outburst about the things that were happening off the field, which got out of control not on my part, but on the part of people who were close to me.

‘I’m going to go back to England, seek psychological help, from a psychologist, to work on my mind. That’s it, come back stronger.

‘I believe I will be in the next squad, I will work for that. It’s about getting a good streak at Tottenham, this week I’m going to sit down and talk to them, I need a good streak, get the rhythm of the game.’

Brazil's players had rallied around Richarlison following the match against Bolivia, with Matheus Cunha revealing his family had consoled the striker.

Richarlison, who has scored 20 goals in 45 matches for Brazil, has struggled since joining Tottenham last season in an £60m move.

The forward scored three goals in 35 appearances in all competitions during his debut campaign at Spurs.

Richarlison is yet to score in his four Premier League appearances this season, but did open his account in the Carabao Cup.

The departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich has opened up the chance for Richarlison to become Tottenham's first-choice striker.

Son Heung-min has been used through the middle before the international break, with the forward scoring a hat-trick in Spurs 5-2 win against Burnley.
