Rio Ferdinand: Jamal Musiala reminds me of Kaka, I don't know how Chelsea let him go

The 44-year-old made the comment when speaking to Rising Ballers.

It comes after The Secret Scout claimed that the Citizens want to sign the Bayern Munich No.42 as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

So, what did Rio Ferdinand say about Manchester City target Jamal Musiala? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the Germany international – to say the least.

Ferdinand believes Musiala is “on a different planet” after watching him play live recently, and even claimed that the Manchester City target reminds him of Kaka.

He said: “I watched Musiala live in Munich yesterday, this guy is on a different planet. His ceiling, and Jude Bellingham’s ceiling, ain’t far off. How England let him go, how Chelsea let him go, I don’t know.

“This kid is a mad talent. He reminds me of Kaka… he seems like he’s even silkier. He’s the closest thing to Kaka I’ve seen.”

That is a bold statement from Ferdinand – to say the least.

Nevertheless, there is no doubt that Musiala is a special talent, and you can see why those at the Etihad Stadium think the 20-year-old is capable of replacing De Bruyne.

Manchester City surely won’t sign Jamal Musiala anytime soon

The Secret Scout did not mention when Manchester City plan to replace De Bruyne with Musiala, although we can’t see it happening anytime soon.

Despite the fact Manchester City’s No.17 turns 33 next year, and has just suffered a serious hamstring injury, he remains one of the greatest players on the planet.

De Bruyne’s qualities are mainly technical and mental, rather than having a reliance on physical traits such as speed.

Therefore, the Belgium international surely has a few years remaining at the highest level before Manchester City need to sign a replacement.
