Former Take That star Robbie Williams has urged Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos to join Manchester United.
The pair enjoy a strong relationship with Kroos tweeting back in 2017 that he throughly enjoyed reading Williams' autobiography.
The singer repaid the faith during the 2018 World Cup where he performed at the opening ceremony. After Kroos scored a free-kick against Sweden, Williams tweeted: "I love you @ToniKroos8".
While discussing his career in Madrid, Williams pleaded with the 29-year-old to ditch Spain for England and join United, giving a bizarre reason as to why he feels Madrid are currently the wrong club for him.
"You've won everything in Madrid, I'm asking you to sign for Manchester United!" the singer told Kroos' documentary as quoted by Marca.
"I think we have the best league in the world, the Premier League.
"That's why one thing annoys me a lot.
"Real Madrid have made me feel small, as if I had a small penis.
"Football is my religion and I don't like that there are gods bigger than mine."
Kroos came close to joining United back in 2014 after deciding to leave Bayern Munich.
The midfielder confirmed a deal to move to Old Trafford was agreed following talks with then manager David Moyes but the Scot's sacking eventually scuppered the deal.
He told lifePR: "I knew before that Manchester wanted me.
"And Moyes underlined that absolutely. It was a really nice afternoon with very nice people. We talked a lot about United's footballing plan which convinced me.
"In the end, we agreed to do it. We agreed verbally.
"I am not somebody who worries about contingencies. Yes, it was close.
"I almost went to Manchester United. But it did not happen that way."
