Andy Robertson has explained how the enormity of winning the Champions League was brought home to him by the celebrations in Liverpool the day after the game.
"I've watched highlights in different videos back, I've not actually watched the full game back," he said.
"I've more watched the special videos of us celebrating and look back at pictures of all my family there and they are the ones I look back on more than the game itself.
"It's something that I will never forget about and obviously at the end of my career, I will definitely look back on it more because that was my first big trophy and I am hungry for more now.
"We did it properly. The team is all close-knit and the staff who work there are all close to the boys and it was a great couple of days for the red side of Liverpool and it was a special occasion.
"And when you came back into the city center that is when you realized what you had done for the club. You have created a small bit of history and hopefully, we have a lot more to come."
In an interview for the Scotland FA , he added: "I was devastated [to come off], more because I thought I had done something more serious and I probably got away with it really, but I remember I was sitting in the treatment room with the masseur and I said to him at half time: 'we're going to do this'.
"I just had that feeling and there was a feeling in the ground. We were only 1-0 up at the half time but there still that sense that something special could happen that night.
"Luckily, the sub that comes on for me (Gini Wijnaldum) made a massive impact [by scoring twice] and of course, it's easy to say that now, but once we'd got past that hard work I couldn't really see us losing the final."
"A Champions League or Premier League this season? If I'm being greedy, I'd want both!" he said.
