Man City midfielder Rodri has named Zinedine Zidane as his football idol.
Rodri joined City in the summer for a record £63 million and it's not been the easiest of starts to life in England, as the Blues have struggled for form in the Premier League.
City currently find themselves 17 points behind table toppers Liverpool and have been plagued by injuries since before the campaign even began.
It has meant Rodri has been deployed in the unfamiliar position of centre-back at times but despite a tough start there have been several examples of why City spent so much on the 23-year-old.
The Spaniard has proved more than able at replicating Fernandinho's defensive coverage in front of the back four, has shown off his range of passing ability and has even scored a couple of pile drivers.
His technical ability is clear to see and it's no surprise considering he grew up admiring football legend Zidane.
“Zidane was an idol when I was little," he told Goal.
"But it is true that given my characteristics, I do not have the profile of Zidane. He played from three-quarters forward, with more imagination and less responsibility.
“In my place on the field, I have more responsibility. I look at Xabi Alonso, [Sergio] Busquets, players who have been a great example of how to improve.”
