Sergio Romero's wife has admitted their daughters don't even play on the £20,000 adventure playground which caused a row with neighbours - because it's too cold in England.
The Manchester United goalkeeper and Eliana Guercio installed the play area at their £2.8million Cheshire home last year, but have since been ordered to tear it down because they did not apply for planning permission beforehand.
Disgruntled neighbours have compared the structure - which contains a 14ft-high penthouse den, a 10ft slide and a 12ft-high castle - to a 'theme park'.
But Eliana says her daughters, Jazmin, 10, Chloe, 7, and Yazmin, 2, are unable to use the equipment because of the poor weather in the north west.
The model, who insists that the playground is hidden from road, has it back at her neighbours, claiming she cannot understand why there have been complaints.
'Where we put up the playground is part of our house, I don't understand why the neighbours got annoyed, she told Argentinean publication Caras.
'You can't see the place where we put it, and besides, as soon as we put it up we went away for two months.
'We came to Argentina, afterwards we went to the beach and afterwards when we returned, the girls went back to school.
'After 4pm, it's already cold, so the girls don't go out in the garden.'
Last month it emerged that Romero and his wife had been ordered to take down the structure despite belatedly requesting planning permission.
Eliana confirmed that she and her husband have appealed that decision and are awaiting the outcome before taking down the playground for good.
One of Romero's neighbours in Wilmslow, Cheshire, told The Sun last month: 'This enormous installation is more suited to a commercial theme park than a quiet residential road.'
Another said: 'Usually such a structure would be expected to be positioned in the back garden.'
A third neighbour suggested the size of the playground would be 'a serious distraction to passing motorists.'
East Cheshire Council refused the family's retrospective planning application last month as the structure 'causes harm to the street scene and the character of the neighbourhood.'
'This is due to the play structure’s height, volume and position ahead of the house and near to the front boundary of the property,' it added.
The playhouse was installed a year ago at the family's mansion, which is a few doors down from former manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s home.
Following an inspection from the council, Romero was ordered to take down the structure, with the body finding that the play area affected 'the street scene and the wider neighbourhood'.
