Cristiano Ronaldo gave Portugal goalkeeper Diogo Costa a dressing down after his blunder almost gifted Ghana an equaliser in added time.
The Porto shot stopper rolled the ball out in his box thinking he was alone before panic immediately struck.
Unbeknownst to him, Ghana forward Inaki Williams was lurking and the Athletic Bilbao star stole the ball with just Costa to beat.
Luckily for Portugal, Williams slipped as he attempted to shoot under the challenge of a desperate Costa and his tame effort was eventually cleared away.
After the heart-in-mouth moment, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo raced over to Portugal 'keeper after seeing him deflated by an error that almost cost his side all-three points.
Ronaldo said to Costa: 'Smile, we won. It didn't end in a goal, did it? You gotta smile, we f***ing win. One more victory and we're through. You can smile. Let's go'.
Costa has been in superb form for Porto this season to cement his rightful place as Portugal's first choice between the posts.
He famously saved two penalties in Porto's 4-0 win at Club Brugge in the Champions league last month.
Costa has been linked with a move to Manchester United while Chelsea have also emerged as a potential suitor.
