The Tottenham Hotspur youngster signed for the club this month in a deal that the Argentinean have now made public
Rosario Central have revealed the exact transfer package Tottenham Hotspur agreed for their 19-year-old striker Alejo Veliz.
The teenager signed for Spurs earlier this month, receiving his work permit the day after he signed alongside defender Micky van de Ven, both players signing six-year contracts with the club. Veliz made a big impact despite his age last season in the Argentinean top flight, netting 11 goals in 23 matches, and that drew him to the attention of plenty of clubs across Europe.
Tottenham moved for the Argentina U20 international as they believe he has the physical attributes to become a Premier League star in the future although new boss Ange Postecoglou admitted that it will take time for Veliz to settle in the new country, culture and league and that the fans should not expect to see him get minutes in the first half of the season.
Now Rosario have released the exact breakdown of the deal that the two clubs agreed for Veliz to make the permanent switch to the north London club.
Spurs will pay the Argentine side $16.7million (£13.18million) and the transfer could also be worth a further $6.4million (£5million) in add-ons. Those will be paid incrementally for every 15 matches the teenage striker appears in across any competitions.
On top of that, Rosario will also have a 10% sell-on clause from any future transfer for Veliz out of Tottenham.
"It will be a while for him, I think. We've just got to let him settle, he's come halfway around the world," Postecoglou said this month on the chances of Veliz making an appearance any time soon.
"He's a young guy, it's a fairly different level. He's one we'll invest in in the long-term but I wouldn't expect him to see any minutes in the first part of the season."
