The Citizens doubled their lead after the interval through Rico Lewis, and looked on course for their first home win in the league since the third of November as the game reached its closing stages.
Despite the deficit Palace preserved, and pegged a goal back through Jean-Philippe Mateta with just over quarter of an hour remaining of normal time.
Mateta was again at the heart of the action in stoppage time when referee Paul Tierney pointed to the spot after Phil Foden's mistimed clearance brought down the French striker inside the box.

Palace meanwhile remain comfortably outside of the relegation zone but are now winless in their last six Premier League fixtures.
