Roy Keane claims Pep Guardiola is the BEST manager in the Premier League

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has chosen Pep Guardiola as his pick for the best manager in the Premier League.

The Manchester City manager has enjoyed much success since joining the club in 2016, winning three Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups and the FA Cup on one occasion.

City now find themselves top of the league table after 18 games this term, in what promises to be a fierce battle for the title alongside Liverpool and Chelsea.

Despite other top managers in the league including Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel, Keane has chosen Guardiola as 'the man'.

‘I remember we did a game last year, I didn’t write off Man City but I think I said they lost their mojo,’ he said on Sky Bet’s Driving Home for Christmas.

‘And then they won the league and it was like a doddle to them.

‘Obviously I know they put in the hard work, but they won it and United finished second but United we’re never going to catch them, I’d never bet against Man City now, I’ve just learnt my lesson from last year.

‘It doesn’t necessarily mean Liverpool or Chelsea can’t pip them to the title, but I think Pep is the man, I look at all of the managers I think Pep is the man.’

When asked by fellow Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards whether he thinks Guardiola is the best, Keane said: ‘I do.

‘People say he’s got the best players, but you still have to manage them, you still have to find a style of play and if you’re going to pick a team to watch it’s going to be Manchester City aren’t you.’

Should City retain the league this season, Guardiola would move to second on the list of Premier League title-winning managers on four.

Currently, he is tied with Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho who won three at Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.

He is still a long way behind Sir Alex Ferguson who won 13 league titles during his 27 years at Old Trafford.
