Rui Patricio is still hoping to link up with the Portugal squad for this month's World Cup qualifiers after making an encouraging recovery from the head injury he suffered playing for Wolves against Liverpool.
The goalkeeper was treated for several minutes before leaving the field on a stretcher after his head collided with the knee of team-mate Conor Coady towards the end of the Liverpool's 1-0 win at Molineux on Monday.
Patricio was named in the European champions' 25-strong party for the matches against Azerbaijan, Serbia and Luxembourg and is optimistic he will be able to take part after responding well in the hours after the incident.
Wolves doctors will hold discussions with their Portugal counterparts before taking a final decision but at this stage it appears Patricio will be allowed to travel.
Portugal will hold their training camp and play their 'home' fixtures in Turin, Italy, to enable their Premier League players to take part, as travel is banned between Portugal and the UK due to Covid-19.
Patricio, 33, was driven home by a club physio after the game but is said to have been chatty and relaxed when he left the stadium. Wolves were monitoring Patricio closely in line with concussion protocols but all the signs are thought to be positive.
Patricio is one of four Wolves players named in the Portugal squad, along with midfielders Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho and forward Pedro Neto, the quartet among 10 Premier League players to make the squad.
Manchester City trio Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva, Arsenal full-back Cedric Soares, Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes and Liverpool forward Diogo Jota were also selected.
Portugal have named Fernandes in the squad despite Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinting he would block the midfielder from travelling if it would affect matches for his club when he returned from international duty.
