FULHAM have agreed a deal to sign their former boy wonder Ryan Sessegnon.

Sessegnon moved into free agency after leaving Tottenham at the end of his contract.

The 24-year-old headed to south London to train with Crystal Palace in a bid to build up his fitness.

It was understood the Eagles were keen to sign him up.

However, the versatile wide player is now on the verge of a return to Craven Cottage.

SunSport understand he is set to have a medical with the Cottagers.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham have an agreement in place with Sessegnon after beating several Premier League clubs to his signature.

Sessegnon came through Fulham's academy and into the first team, where he then played 120 games in all competitions.

He also scored 25 goals and added 18 assists while playing across the left flank.

In 2019 Tottenham signed the star for £25million.

However, persistent hamstring injuries saw Sessegnon's time with the north Londoners become a nightmare.

He was sent on loan to Hoffenheim in the 2020/21 season in the hopes of finding his best form.

But he failed to do so and made little impact after returning to England.

All told he played 57 times for Spurs, scoring three times and adding four assists.

The news comes after Fulham reportedly agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Emile Smith Rowe.

It has been reported Smith Rowe, 23, will join Fulham in a club record £35m deal.

It's understood Palace were also keen on the Gunners' midfielder.

Mikel Arteta all-but confirmed his departure when asked why Smith Rowe was benched for the pre-season draw against Bournemouth.

He said: "There are things happening in the background at the moment.

"We decided the best thing to do was to keep him away from the game today."
