Ryan Sessegnon's goal for Tottenham will do his confidence the world of good

There were 2.2 seconds between Ryan Sessegnon's first touch to bring the ball under control and his next one to take his shot.

That is a long time for a 19-year-old, making his first start for Tottenham, to think about what to do. Even longer when you consider he is having to try to beat Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in front of a sold-out Allianz Arena.

Yet he duly settled himself down, hit it flush and scored to equalise for Spurs. It was not the best goal you will ever see in the Champions League but it was a big one for Sessegnon.

It will do his confidence the world of good. It was a case of, 'There you go, Spurs fans, this is what you bought for £25million'.

Pushed further forward, he showed how rapid he is, too.

He was taking yards off Benjamin Pavard, the France right back tasked with keeping him quiet. The future is bright!
