The Portuguese star ran away as if he had got his head to Bruno Fernandes' cross against Uruguay. It was shameless!
Unfortunately for Ronaldo, it turns out there is a sensor inside adidas's Al Rihla match ball. Graphics confirmed it flat-lined as the ball flew past him.
I'm sure the fact that Lionel Messi is sponsored by adidas and Ronaldo by Nike will lead to some fun conspiracy theories! But watching replays in real time, I didn't think he touched the ball.
It's important to note that, had Ronaldo not made his run, Uruguay goalkeeper Sergio Rochet would have probably caught Fernandes' cross. Ronaldo's movement was vital, but don't try to claim a goal that isn't yours!
